From the rolling hills of Colonnella in Abruzzo, Francesco Massetti's Montepulciano Quarantacinque is a testament to the region's rich viticultural heritage. The 3.5-hectare vineyard, situated at 120 meters above sea level, thrives in clayey soils rich in marine fossils and sediments. Cultivated without chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides, the vines yield approximately 30 quintals per hectare. Bottled without filtration, this wine embodies Massetti's commitment to natural winemaking practices. With a limited production of around 4,700 bottles, Montepulciano Quarantacinque offers a distinctive expression of Abruzzo's terroir.

Francesco Massetti

On the rolling slopes of Colonnella in Abruzzo, Francesco Massetti founded his winery in 2014 in a rustic red farmhouse. Raised with a lifelong love for the outdoors and equipped with an agricultural sciences degree, he planted 5.5 hectares of vineyards on clay soils rich with marine fossils. Dedicated to biodiversity, Francesco farms organically, embracing the rhythm of the land. He honors tradition by focusing solely on native Montepulciano and Trebbiano, harvests by hand, ferments spontaneously—white in steel, red in oak—and bottles unfiltered.
