In the Contrada Buonavini of Noto, Sicily, situated between the Ionian Sea and the Sicilian Strait, is the project of Pierpaolo Messina. Pierpaolo is a young and extremely talented winemaker who dedicated his life in 2002 to changing the reputation of the territory he grew up in. He takes a parcel-to-parcel approach in his viticulture by dividing his property into almost 20 plots according to the history of the estate. Attention to every detail in the vineyard and rigorously adhering to his own versions of organic and biodynamic farming creates unmistakable purity in the fruit that is presented fully in the wine through his deft hand in the cellar. If you want wines that tell you where they are from and who made them, look no further than the wines of Marabino.

This parcel takes its name from the many rabbits in this vineyard, cultivated as a freestanding bush (alberello "Impupato" Pachinese).  Being located near a "saia" (water drainage channels created by the Arabs) gives it cooler and more humid temperatures in the immense heat of the summer. The soil is deep, black clay of alluvial nature giving this Nero d'Avola a splendid and fruity, light, fresh, dynamic taste.
