FIJO by Albamocco is a unique expression of the Verdicchio grape, crafted by young and passionate Alessandra Venturi and Filippo Russotto. Their vineyards, located in the rolling hills of the Marche region, are planted in clay and limestone soils, which impart a distinctive character to the wine. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging on the lees for several months to enhance the wine’s texture and complexity. FIJO showcases the bright acidity and crisp structure typical of Verdicchio, with a touch of minerality that reflects the unique terroir of the region. Sometimes, getting lost leads you exactly where you need to be. When Alessandra Venturi and Filippo Russotto took a wrong turn while exploring the hills of the Marche, they ended up outside the home of a local winemaker who invited them in for a glass of Verdicchio. That encounter became the seed of Albamocco. They restored an old stone farmhouse, planted olive trees, and brought back to life a small vineyard of Verdicchio. Their winemaking is intuitive, transparent, and hands-on, with minimal intervention and a deep respect for what nature offers.
