Palladino is a traditional Barolo producer located in the village of Serralunga d’Alba, where winemaker Maurilio Palladino continues the family’s legacy of crafting powerful, long-lived wines. Maurilio’s philosophy is to create wines that express the unique terroir of Barolo, with a focus on balance, structure, and elegance. He practices sustainable farming and extended aging in large oak casks, following the traditional Barolo method.

The Parafada vineyard, one of their prized crus, is situated on a steep south-facing slope with compact limestone soils, which contribute to the wine's structure and aging potential. The 2017 Barolo Parafada showcases aromas of ripe cherry, dried roses, and sweet spices. On the palate, it presents firm yet refined tannins, balanced by bright acidity. Aged for at least 24 months in large oak barrels, this Barolo embodies the intensity and finesse characteristic of Serralunga’s best crus.

Cantina Palladino

Nestled in the heart of Serralunga d’Alba, Cantina Palladino was founded in 1974 by Piero Palladino, who returned to his native Langhe and entrusted the cellar to his cousin Maurilio. Today, Maurilio works alongside his wife Domenica, their children Veronica, Alessandro, Margherita, and cousins Luca and Matteo, forming a family singular in devotion. Housed in a former convent, their winery is perched where Cannubi meets Brunate—each vineyard yields expressions of steep limestone and clay that whisper in the bottle. Through manual labor, long ferments in steel, gentle malolactics in cement, and patient aging in large oak casks, they produce Barolos that are both powerful and graceful, reflections of lineage, land, and commitment folded into every vintage.
