Palladino is a traditional Barolo producer located in the village of Serralunga d’Alba, where winemaker Maurilio Palladino continues the family’s legacy of crafting powerful, long-lived wines. Maurilio’s philosophy is to create wines that express the unique terroir of Barolo, with a focus on balance, structure, and elegance. He practices sustainable farming and extended aging in large oak casks, following the traditional Barolo method.
The 2016 Barolo is made from grapes grown in the San Bernardo vineyard, one of Serralunga’s top sites. The wine is aged for 36 months in large oak casks, followed by additional bottle aging. It presents complex aromas of red cherries, dried roses, tar, and earthy spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied with firm tannins and bright acidity, showcasing flavors of ripe red fruit, tobacco, and a hint of truffle. This wine is built for long aging and pairs beautifully with game, truffle dishes, or aged cheeses.
