Castello Conti is a family-run winery based in Maggiora, in the Boca DOC area of Alto Piemonte. Managed by the three Conti sisters—Elena, Anna, and Paola—the estate focuses on reviving traditional field blends typical of the region. Origini 2023 is made from a co-fermentation of Nebbiolo, Vespolina, Uva Rara, and other local varieties, all hand-harvested from organically farmed vineyards on volcanic soils rich in porphyry. Fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts, and the wine is aged for about 15 months—partly in stainless steel, partly in large old oak casks. The result is a vibrant red wine with notes of red berries, herbs, and spice, supported by bright acidity and supple tannins. Origini is a tribute to Alto Piemonte’s farming past, when wines were made for family and community. Today, the Conti sisters carry forward that legacy with a thoughtful, low-intervention approach that honors both land and tradition.

Cantine del Castello Conti

In the quiet town of Maggiora, at the northern edge of Alto Piemonte, the three Conti sisters—Elena, Paola, and Anna—carry forward a legacy rooted in the volcanic soils of Boca. Their vineyards, perched at about 450 meters above sea level, are farmed organically and entirely by hand, honoring both the land and the memory of their father Ermanno. Nebbiolo, Vespolina, and Uva Rara grow together here, blending in the glass as they do in the vineyard, shaped by long fermentations with native yeasts and aging in large oak casks. Each bottle represents sisterhood, and it's a testament to Boca’s quiet, enduring beauty.
