Cantine di Neoneli & Antichi Vigneti Manca - Statale 131 Bianco
“Statale 131” is the main road stretching from the Gulf of Asinara in the north west of Sardinia, to Cagliari in the south, finding it’s way along blustery winds, lush coastlines, hills of rare beauty and mountains full of mystery. Along this road two wineries, Antichi Vigneti Manca and Cantine di Neoneli, connected and began an explosive exchange of views, thoughts, ideas and taste, leading to the creation of two wines, both holding the name of the road that for so long has been the highway of Sardinian history.
The Statale 131 bianco is a unique expression of Vermentino taking in the incredible terroir where Antichi Vigneti Manca is located and the grapes grown. Alessia, Noemi and Pierpaolo grew under the shade of the Vermentino vines and learnt how to appreciate and tame it. The grapes are then trasformed into wine under the careful eye of the Manca team and the Neoneli family, expecially Samuel who brought the knowledge of making wine in the middle of the island all the way to it’s northern most border, in an explosion of citrus, mature fruit and spices.
