Colombo Sormani winery was founded in 2019 by Lorenzo Colombo and Andrea Sormani, two wine obsessives with a focus on Valtellina. Their holdings throughout Sassella, Castione Andevenno, and Berbenno total around 1.5hectares. Viticulture comes first at Colombo Sormani, with a focus on purity in intervention. These choices on intervention - or lack-thereof - made in the vineyard are also represented in the cellar by active choices to step back from the manipulation of the wines and accept the beauty that comes as a result.

Colombo Sormani

Lorenzo Colombo and Andrea Sormani—both from Lecco—exchanged their everyday careers for the steep terraces of Valtellina. In 2019, they planted their flag among ancient Nebbiolo (Chiavennasca) vines across Valtellina. Farmed organically on rugged, hand-tilled slopes, their grapes ferment with native yeasts, untouched by corrections, and their wines emerge unfiltered, unclarified, brimming with character. From that first modest garage project to today’s 1.5 hectares, every bottle speaks of the quiet bravery of two friends who chose land over convenience.
