On the coast of Sardinia, in the tiny village of Bosa, the Columbu family has safeguarded one of the island’s rarest treasures: Malvasia di Bosa. It was Giuseppe Columbu who first gave voice to these golden wines, treating the grape with the reverence of art. Today his children, Francesca and Andrea, continue the work on steep, sunlit slopes of volcanic and calcareous soils at about 300 meters above sea level. Farming is organic, harvesting by hand, fermentations are spontaneous, and aging unfolds slowly in chestnut barrels, where air and time sculpt the wine into something luminous and austere.
