Giocaia is a young winery nestled in the Valpolicella region of Veneto, where a respect for tradition meets a clear, contemporary vision. Located on Monte Preafitta in the Val Squaranto valley, the estate is farmed organically and with minimal intervention to preserve the expression of its unique terroir. Il Base is a Valpolicella Superiore made from the classic blend of Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with native yeasts, followed by 12 months of aging in large Slavonian oak barrels. The result is a wine with a ruby hue leaning toward garnet, offering aromas of sour cherry and licorice. On the palate, it is structured and balanced, with vibrant acidity and smooth tannins leading to a long, clean finish.
