Luca Marenco is part of a new generation of winemakers in Dogliani, Piedmont, working with a deep sense of place and a respect for tradition. His 2023 Dolcetto is sourced from vineyards in Barolo and Novello, rooted in calcareous clay soils that give the wine its hallmark freshness and precision. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented in stainless steel to preserve purity of fruit. A brief aging period in steel tanks follows to enhance its bright, varietal character. On the nose, it reveals aromas of black cherry, plum, and almond. The palate is juicy and vibrant, with soft tannins and a dry, slightly savory finish. With its light structure and expressive fruit, this Dolcetto is easy to pair and even easier to enjoy.
