Cesanese del Piglio

Marco Falcone's Pallò is a vibrant expression of the Cesanese grape, cultivated in the rolling hills of Piglio, Lazio. This biodynamically farmed wine is a testament to Falcone's dedication to preserving the region’s identity through natural winemaking practices. The name "Pallò" comes from an old nickname for Marco, reflecting his personal connection to this labor of love.
Fermented in clay amphorae, this wine highlights the purity and character of Cesanese, free from any additives or filtration. Falcone’s journey from infectious disease specialist to winemaker is reflected in the precision and care behind every bottle, bringing out the full potential of this unique terroir.

Marco Falcone

"The culture of natural wine is what will allow us to preserve the planet's ecosystem in the coming years. After all, we are already trying to go back", underlines Marco Falcone, infectious disease specialist and winemaker in Piglio (Lazio). A desired and necessary commitment also in the world of wine because the resources "at our disposal are what they are". Very high density sapling vines, green manure between the rows for soil fertility. Considered as a heretic due to the contrast of his ideas with the local tradition on viticulture, pruning and the use of amphorae, today he spends his energies seeking the perfect balance between all the components of the environment. If it is true that man and vineyard must coexist, it is equally true that man should not be vegetalized, much less anthropized the vine.
