Azienda Agricola Tinessa, founded by Marco Tinessa, is dedicated to producing authentic wines that embody the essence of their terroir. The Ognostro Rosso 2022 is crafted from 100% Aglianico grapes sourced from organically farmed vineyards located between Montemarano and Castelfranci in Irpinia. These vineyards, situated at an average altitude of 450 meters above sea level, boast vines aged between 50 to 90 years. The high elevation and diverse soil composition, contribute to the grape's natural acidity and robust tannic structure.
Fermentation occurred spontaneously in concrete and steel vats over a month-long period, without the use of "pied de cuve" (a starter culture), ensuring a true expression of the vineyard's microflora. Following fermentation, the wine was aged for 18 months in ceramic amphorae and concrete tanks, materials chosen to avoid any external flavor influence and to preserve the wine's purity.
The result is a full-bodied, succulent wine with pronounced tannins and remarkable longevity. On the palate, it reveals layers of dark fruit, earthy undertones, and a persistent finish, reflecting the distinctive terroir of Campania.
