Pedra Niedda is a young winery rooted in the inland Mandrolisai region of Sardinia, founded by Enrico and Susanna—partners in life and in their mission to highlight the island’s indigenous grapes.
The grapes are vinified with minimal intervention to preserve their authentic character. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, with partial aging in French oak tonneaux, followed by a few months of maturation in steel. The wine opens with aromas of red berries and wild herbs, and evolves on the palate with notes of plum, spice, and soft minerality. Fresh yet structured, Basca captures the raw beauty of Sardinia’s interior landscape. The project reflects a modern spirit grounded in tradition, producing wines that are expressive, approachable, and true to their origins.

Pedra Niedda Tenute

Emerging from a profound love for land and tradition, Enrico, a Tuscan agronomist, and Susanna, a native Sardinian, returned to Susanna’s ancestral home in Sini to revive neglected vineyards and forge a new chapter in Sardinia’s winemaking story. Established in 2018, their two estates span the volcanic slopes of Monte Arci and the rolling hills of Mandrolisai, where they far Cannonau and rare Semidano vine varieties Their farming is intentionally organic, working hand-in-hand with the ecosystem: green manure, sparse fertilization, and vine training that embraces alpently structured roots and minimal energy expenditure.
