Located in Bolzano, in the heart of South Tyrol, Pfannenstielhof is a historic estate run by the Pfeifer family since 1816. Their Riserva “Der Pfannenstiel” 2018 is a refined take on the classic blend of 95% Schiava (Vernatsch) and 5% Lagrein. The grapes are grown on pergola-trained vines rooted in morainic soils, and co-fermented before aging over four years in stainless steel, followed by bottle refinement. The wine shows a radiant ruby color, with notes of ripe cherry, dried herbs, and soft spice. The palate is elegant and smooth, with balanced acidity and silky tannins. A graceful and age-worthy expression of the St. Magdalener tradition.
