The Rizzi estate is one of the most respected names in Barbaresco, known for crafting wines of precision and elegance from some of the best crus in the region. The Nervo vineyard, situated in the Treiso subzone, is one of the steepest and most challenging sites to cultivate, but it rewards winemakers with exceptional Nebbiolo grapes that translate into complex, structured wines. 

The 2021 vintage was a standout, with optimal conditions that allowed for balanced ripening and excellent concentration of flavor. This Barbaresco was fermented with native yeasts and aged for 18 months in large Slavonian oak casks, allowing the wine to develop complexity without overwhelming the delicate aromatics of Nebbiolo. The nose offers a bouquet of dried roses, red cherries and anise. On the palate, the wine is silky and refined, with a core of vibrant red fruit and a long, savory finish.

While already accessible in its youth, this wine will continue to develop tertiary characteristics over the next two decades, evolving into a more nuanced and profound expression of Barbaresco. A true collector’s wine.
