Valcerasa, under the guidance of winemaker Alice Bonaccorsi, is situated on the northern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. The estate spans approximately 20 hectares, with half dedicated to organic vineyards and the remainder to olive groves and future hospitality projects. The vineyards, primarily utilizing the traditional alberello (bush-trained) system, thrive in volcanic soils rich in minerals, contributing to the distinct character of their wines. The terroir's elevation and unique soil composition impart a vibrant acidity and pronounced minerality to the wines. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented spontaneously with native yeasts, adhering to natural winemaking principles without chemical interventions.

This approach results in a wine that reflects the unique terroir of Etna, offering a harmonious balance of acidity and minerality. On the palate, it presents notes of citrus, green apple, and a subtle saline quality, leading to a refreshing finish.

Azienda Agricola Alice Bonaccorsi

Valcerasa is a small family estate on the northern slope of Mount Etna, between Randazzo and Passopisciaro. In the late 1990s, Alice Bonaccorsi and her husband Giuseppe came back to revive the old family vineyards, planted on steep volcanic terraces at 750 meters above sea level.
Farming on Etna isn’t easy—especially back then, when the region wasn’t on anyone’s radar. But Alice chose to stay and grow roots here. Her vines, many of them old and ungrafted, are treated with care and respect, like “beautiful ladies,” as she likes to call them. Etna itself is not a threat to her, but a powerful and generous female presence—one that offers new land and energy with every eruption.
The estate is organic, with spontaneous fermentations and minimal intervention in the cellar. The wines carry the strength and grace of both the land and the woman behind them. Being a woman in a male-dominated world wasn’t always easy for Alice, but over time it has become one of her greatest strengths.
