The various grapes sourced grow on soils with a strong clay component, trained as a sapling. One of the most fascinating features of Emanuele’s philosophy is an extremely high planting density, 11,000 plants per hectare - similar to the concept at Hermitage, that leads the plants to a rather low yield and to a higher quality and richness during fermentation. No chemicals or synthetic treatments are ever used. Fermentations occur spontaneously and the wines leave the cellar after spending at least 20 months in new barriques. Major attention is put into energy conservation to reduce any excess of fossil fuels used, and natural methods are used to obtain the most sincere expression of the territory. This wine is full, rich and smooth to produce a wine that blends the softness of many California wines with a refreshing dose of acidity unique to the Italian wines for a beautiful marriage of two winemaking cultures.

San Giovenale

Beyond Rome’s bustle, among the ancient Etruscan ruins of Tuscia, Emanuele Pangrazi planted seven hectares of terraced vines—Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Malvasia Nera, and Cabernet Franc. On clay-rich hills kissed by Tyrrhenian sea breezes, each vine trained carefully in alberello and pruned for purity. Wines like Habemus and his Etichetta Rossa emerge after long barrique aging and fermentations guided by native yeasts, speaking boldly against the expectations of the land.
