Tenuta Vincenzo Nardone - Essenza

As in any seismic territory, in Irpinia there is a pre and post earthquake. The events have inevitably reshaped both the territory, urban planning and people's lives. Considering the particular vocation of these areas, wine production has also been involved. Through their wines Nico “Pupo” Nardone and his wife Sarah Pompei tell us the story of their daily life, made up of moments of joy and sharing but also with plenty of difficulties and ambiguity: they feel that their land is not always respected and preserved as it would deserve.

Pupo’s wines are classic but at the same time innovative and his continuous desire to experiment contrasts with the rigorous search for tradition.

Essenza is a surprising, complex yet articulated orange wine based on Greco grapes. Spontaneous fermentation with its own yeasts, half of the mass with direct pressing and the other half with 4-day maceration. Aging for 12 months in steel.

Excellent paired with raw and cooked seafood, Catalan shellfish, to try with spaghetti with sea urchin eggs.
