Tenuta Vincenzo Nardone - Lapio
Tenuta Vincenzo Nardone - Lapio
Vincenzo Nardone winery was born thanks to the will of the agronomist Vincenzo, who began to plant native varieties in his homeland with the vision of making his wines independently. The next generation is represented by his son Nicola who in 2004 took over the reins of the cellar to lead it towards extremely personal horizons. Madly in love with his land and practically raised in the middle of his vineyard, he decides to attend the faculty of viticulture and oenology in Bordeaux, home of aristocratic, refined and millionaire wines against which, once back home, he will fight claiming that “wine is meant to be drunk”. The constant search for experimentation is the flag that best represents it, in stark contrast to the immovable rigor of tradition.
Fiano grapes come from vines grown in Lapio area on soils rich in clay, tuff and sandstone. The bunches are harvested and destemmed by hand and then mashed into steel tanks for spontaneous alcoholic fermentation without temperature control. The maceration on the skins lasts for 4 days. Once the fermentation processes are completed, the masses spend a further 6 months of refinement in steel and fibreglass vats, before being assembled and finally bottled without any clarification and filtration.
