Pignolo

Pignol 2011 is made by Bressan in Friuli from the rare Pignolo grape, sourced from low-yielding vineyards farmed with minimal intervention. The wine undergoes long maceration and extended aging, following Bressan’s uncompromising, traditional approach. Released after significant time in the cellar, it shows how Pignolo develops structure and depth through patience rather than technique. A reference bottling for one of Friuli’s historic red varieties.

Bressan is a long-standing family estate in Friuli, today guided by Fulvio Bressan, known for his strong personality and uncompromising approach. The winery works almost entirely with native varieties and relies on consistent, hands-on work rather than technology or shortcuts. Decisions are made in a very direct, practical way: long fermentations, slow aging, and no cosmetic adjustments. The style reflects the family behind it — determined, meticulous, and uninterested in fashion. Their wines have a clear identity and are produced in small quantities, with the same methodical approach applied vintage after vintage.
