Podere Le Ripi, founded by Francesco Illy in the late 1990s, is a biodynamic estate located near Castelnuovo dell'Abate on the southeastern slopes of Montalcino. The estate is known for its regenerative farming and natural winemaking, aiming to fully express the region’s unique terroir. The area benefits from cooling breezes, which help preserve acidity and aromatic freshness, while the soil composition ensures a wine with finesse and a long aging potential. 
The wine is aged in large oak casks for an extended period, allowing for gentle oxygenation that enhances depth and complexity while maintaining the purity of fruit. The 2020 vintage presents a deep ruby hue and a pronounced aromatic intensity, offering notes of red orange, violet and Mediterranean scrub. On the palate it has a fresh acidity and fine tannins. Ripe cherry and pomegranate flavors dominate, with earthy undertones. The balance between concentration and elegance makes this an exceptional Brunello with long-term aging potential.
