Cappuccetto Rosa from Podere le Ripi is a vibrant rosé made from Sangiovese grapes grown in biodynamically farmed vineyards. The name "Cappuccetto Rosa" evokes the whimsical image of "Little Red Riding Hood," reflecting the wine's playful and enchanting character. This rosé is produced entirely from Sangiovese grapes, the noble varietal famous for its role in Brunello di Montalcino wines. The grapes are hand-harvested and all vineyard management is done with the utmost respect for the natural environment.
Sebastian, the passionate winemaker at Podere le Ripi, believes in creating wines that are true expressions of their terroir and are made with minimal intervention.
The fermentation process is spontaneous, relying on native yeasts present on the grape skins and in the winery, which contributes to the wine's unique character and complexity. After fermentation, it’s aged on its lees for several months in stainless steel tanks. No synthetic additives or chemicals are used throughout the winemaking process, staying true to Sebastian's philosophy of natural winemaking.

Podere Le Ripi

What began as Francesco Illy’s dream of beauty upon a wild Montalcino ridge has since blossomed into something far richer than wine—a living ecosystem. Today, together with Sebastian Nasello, the estate’s longtime winemaker and guiding spirit, Podere Le Ripi has become a place where agriculture and philosophy intertwine. Nestled between the eastern and western slopes of Montalcino, where Sangiovese vines live among olive trees, woods, and orchards, the farm pulses with biodynamic vitality. Bees, sheep, and wild herbs shape the landscape; fermentations rise on native yeasts; vessels of wood, concrete, and clay cradle the wines with patience.
