Montepulciano 2020 is made by Poderi Sanguineto, a small family estate working just outside the town of Montepulciano. Dora Forsoni and Patrizia Giannetti farm their vineyards organically, focusing on local varieties and traditional practices. The wine is based on Sangiovese, fermented with native yeasts and aged in large, neutral vessels to preserve balance and clarity. A straightforward expression of Montepulciano’s rural winemaking tradition, shaped by careful farming and restrained cellar work.

Podere Sanguineto is run by Dora Forsoni and Patrizia Giannetti, two sisters who have worked the same small parcels just outside Montepulciano for decades. Their estate sits in a rural pocket of the area, historically dedicated to mixed farming rather than large-scale wine production. Sanguineto has long been a reference point for an agricultural, everyday expression of Montepulciano, shaped by consistency rather than expansion. The project remains deliberately small, closely tied to the rhythms and scale of local life.
