Terre di Giotto, established by winemaker Michele Lorenzetti, is located in Gattaia, northern Tuscany. The Gattaia Pinot Nero 2020 is produced from 100% Pinot Nero grapes cultivated in vineyards situated between 480 to 590 meters above sea level. The high-altitude setting, surrounded by chestnut and oak forests, offers a unique microclimate that contributes to the wine's elegance and complexity.
The wine is aged for one year in tonneaux, followed by one year in cement tanks, and an additional year and a half in the bottle before release. This process results in a wine that is fleshy, deep, and concentrated, with rich tannins and fresh acidity. On the palate, it reveals layers of red berries, spices, and earthy undertones.

Terre di Giotto

In the hills of Mugello near Vicchio, Michele Lorenzetti sowed his dream in 2006—planting life into three biodynamic hectares. At 500–600 meters above sea level on clay-limestone soils, he revived vineyards of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Malvasia, Trebbiano, and Tempranillo, alongside high-altitude plots of Pinot Noir, Chenin, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, and Riesling—varieties traced back to 19th-century. Farming with precision and passion, harvests are by hand, fermentations breathe freely in concrete and amphora, and aging is done with quiet restraint.
