Valcerasa, a winery nestled on the slopes of Mount Etna, is renowned for its dedication to producing wines that reflect the unique volcanic terroir of the region. The Carricante Bonaccorsi is crafted from Carricante grapes grown in the mineral-rich, volcanic soils of Etna. The winery, led mainly by Alice Bonaccorsi, alongside her husband, with a deep passion for winemaking, ensures that the wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks. A small part of the must ferments on the skins and is subsequently combined with the rest, enriching the wine with complexity and depth. Malolactic fermentation is carried out, helping to make the wine softer and rounder. The result is a wine with vibrant acidity, crisp structure, and a touch of minerality.
Valcerasa’s commitment to sustainable farming and traditional winemaking techniques ensures that each bottle of Carricante Bonaccorsi is a true representation of Etna’s potential.

Valcerasa is a small family estate on the northern slope of Mount Etna, between Randazzo and Passopisciaro. In the late 1990s, Alice Bonaccorsi and her husband Giuseppe came back to revive the old family vineyards, planted on steep volcanic terraces at 750 meters above sea level.
Farming on Etna isn’t easy—especially back then, when the region wasn’t on anyone’s radar. But Alice chose to stay and grow roots here. Her vines, many of them old and ungrafted, are treated with care and respect, like “beautiful ladies,” as she likes to call them. Etna itself is not a threat to her, but a powerful and generous female presence—one that offers new land and energy with every eruption.
The estate is organic, with spontaneous fermentations and minimal intervention in the cellar. The wines carry the strength and grace of both the land and the woman behind them. Being a woman in a male-dominated world wasn’t always easy for Alice, but over time it has become one of her greatest strengths.
